President’s Message
July 2007
Well summer is here at last and Year 2006 -2007 has come to close.
As the incoming President you usually have a target to complete
certain items and, new ones get added to your list as the year goes
on.
Well, thanks to the hard work of the Toscot Exec. Committee here is
the list of items completed this year.

Our new Constitution and By-Laws are completed and are now
legally in compliance.

We have had our books official checked by an accountant.
-
Toscot now has a permanent address.
-
We have rented a storage space for our archives.
I would like to thank both L.V. Lomas and St. Lawrence for
archiving our records at their facilities over the past number
of years.

Website has been upgraded – have a look around.

Jan.2007 we moved to electronic newsletter. For number of years
Barry and Jennifer Kay had printed our newsletter and Toscot
Board would like to extend our thanks for doing a great job for
us over a number of years.

Toscot has started to take payment by credit card
-
Venue change from the Board of Trade to the Marriot as The Board
of Trade was closing its Airport Facility.

Changed the format of our Annual Golf Tournament this year- got
positive feedback from the members.
Items
on the table for next year ……

Looking at our Education program and how we can revise it to
benefit our industry today. This task will take more than a year
to complete.

Look at our Finances closely so we have a financial review
committee in place
-
We will have a budget in place for next year so we have better
control on spending.

Of course ICE 2007 is in Toronto this fall.
Addition to the Exec. Committee: Neil Whitlock of Tristar Coatings,
Steve Gryba of Chemroy and Jason Young of Dempsey Corp. and Gerry
Gomes of Charles Tennant & Co.
People that have stepped down this year are Mike Vincent of DCC and
Urs Hentchel of Proform. Mike, Urs thanks for your contribution to
Toscot. It was a pleasure to work with you both over the past years.
I would like to thank all the volunteers on the committee for
taking time out of their day to day life for Toscot and our members
for their contribution.
Although it was a lot of hard work, I enjoyed my first year as
President and looking forward to the challenges of 2007-08.
In the end, have a Great Summer with your family & friend and drive
safe.
