Your society has established a scholarship fund for your children considering post-secondary education (college or university). The maximum $2000.00 scholarship is designed to encourage young people to continue their education. Although preference is given to those considering enrolling in science programs, unlike some industry-connected scholarships, applicants who have selected a non-science related field of study would also be considered. If there are no applicants in the field of science, the scholarship will be awarded to applicants enrolled in other programs. Funds for the scholarship come from money contributed by the members in 1970.

In the event that the number of applicants meriting a scholarship is greater than one, the amount awarded per applicant may be scaled down.

Alternatively, should the growth of the capital fund amount warrant it, the trustees will contribute a second full scholarship.

Four trustees from the executive committee manage the scholarship fund, they also select the recipient(s). The scholarship cheque(s) is (are) presented annually at the September meeting.
